Sauteed Squid with bell peppers / Sautee de Calamar au poivron


Ingredients (serves 2-3)



  • 1 squid (body only) approx. 200g
  • 2 bell peppers, cut into cube-sized pieces (2cm)
  • 2 white oignons (quarter chopped)
  • 1 tbs ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbs all-purpose flour / corn flour
  • 1 fresh green chilli, seeded & sliced
  • 2 stalks spring onions, cut into 1″ sections
  • 1 carrot slided
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs light soy sauce
  • 2 tbs oyster sauce
  • Salt and Pepper
Instructions:

    1. Take your knife and make small slits along the flat squid pieces in a checkered pattern.
    2. In a bowl, marinade your squid, ½ tbs salt + 1 tbs ginger garlic paste, 1 tbs light soy sauce and 1 tbs oyster sauce, leave for 10mins
    3. Heat oil in pan and sauté the  squid marinade + flour, leave for 5 mins, high heat
    4. Add onions, carrots, bell pepper, sliced chilli, + 1 tbs oyster sauce and salt and pepper + 1cup of water, medium heat for 15 mins
    5. Add spring onions while serving
    6. Serve with bread
